A Year in Verse

I flip through the pages.
Not many,
perhaps twenty-five in all.
Not much, but a year
of my life in verse.

So many thoughts came to light,
but only twenty-five pages
found their way to paper.

The most important poem
an un-written one

about working too much

because life is too short.
